Chamika Karunaratne is a bowling allrounder who plays for Sri Lanka’s national team. His is predominantly a fast bowler who can get some valuable runs down the order with his power hitting skills. Karunaratne made his mark from the U-19 Sri Lankan setup. Karunaratne doesn’t have lethal pace but his ability to hit the correct line and length and change of pace makes him an important cog in the Sri Lankan team. The all-rounder wasn’t picked for the 2014 U-19 World Cup, hence, decided to prove himself through domestic cricket.

He made his first-class debut for Tamil Union Cricket and the following season, the allrounder made his List-A and T20 debuts, before getting selected for the Emerging Teams Asia Cup in 2018. In January 2019, he was named in the squad for the Test series against Australia. In May 2021, the Sri Lankan was named to the squad for the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh and was a prat of the Asia Cup squad and the World Cup squad in 2022. Karunaratne is now a prominent part of the Sri Lankan white ball set up. Chamika was picked up by the Kolkatta Knights Riders in the 2002 IPL auction for a sum of INR 50 lakhs.
