Adil Rashid is a professional cricketer who plays for England cricket team Internationally. Adil has represented England’s national team in all the three formats of the game. In domestic cricket, Adil plays for Yorkshire. He has been a part of multiple T20 leagues around the world. He has been a part of the England’s team that won both ICC 2019 and ICC 2022 world cup. He was born on 17 February 1988 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. He is a right arm leg spinner, who specializes in taking wickets. Along with Jos Butler, Adil set the record for highest 7th wicket partnership against New Zealand in 2015. He is the highest wicket taking spin bowler in England in T20I and ODI.

Adil showed amazing skills both with bat and ball at a young age, while playing for Yorkshire academy’s team. While playing for Yorkshire Second XI in 2006, he scored consecutive hundreds. From there, the gates for first class cricket, opened for Adil Rashid. Adil played his debut county cricket match in 2006 against Warwickshire. While playing in the second match against Warwickshire, Adil took 6 wickets for 67 runs and made his team win the match. For the 2007-08 Duleep Trophy in India, Adil was selected in the England Lions team in January 2008. Adil’s best performance in first class cricket came in a match against Hampshire, where he took 7 wickets for 107 runs.

Adil was selected for the 2009 ICC T20 world cup in England’s team in place of injured Andrew Flintoff. He got to play 4 matches in the world cup, where he ended up taking 3 wickets with an economy rate of 7.30 and with a batting average of 31.66. Adil returned to play in domestic cricket for Yorkshire, where he scored yet another hundred and took another 5 wickets. He became the second player after George Hirst to score a hundred and take 5 wickets twice in a single season. On 27 August 2009, against Ireland, Adil played his debut One Day International (ODI). He was selected in England’s team for a ODI series against Australia, where he had quite a decent performance with both bat and ball.

In the 2022 season of The Hundred, Adil was signed by Northern Superchargers in April 2022. Adil got selected in England’s Test team for their series against Pakistan in UAE in October 2015. In his debut Test match, first innings, he didn’t get any wicket, however in the second innings, Adil took his first 5-fer in Test cricket. Adil was part of the England team that played in the 2016 ICC T20 world cup, where he managed to take 5 wickets throughout the tournament. In an ODI series against Ireland in 2020, Adil became the first England spin bowler to take 150 wickets in ODIs. Adil became part of the England’s team that played in the 2021 ICC T20 world cup. Adil is one of the biggest spin bowlers England has ever produced, based on his achievements in domestic and International cricket.
