West Indies will be hosting three teams and the hosts will play four Tests, 15 Twenty20 Internationals and three ODIs.
West Indies have announced a bumper home schedule for 2021 at home. The Windies will host South Africa, Australia and Pakistan from June to August. The schedule will include 15 Twenty20 Internationals, four Tests and three ODIs. West Indies will play five Twenty20 Internationals against South Africa, Australia and Pakistan. The Tests will be against South Africa and Pakistan while the three ODIs will be against Australia. The home summer will follow bio-secure protocols and players will undergo regular tests for coronavirus. There has been no decision made on whether fans can attend the matches.
South Africa will be touring the West Indies for the first time in 11 years. In 2010, they beat the West Indies 2-0, 5-0 and managed to win the three-Test series 2-0. In this current schedule, South Africa will play two Tests in St Lucia in June. The first Test will begin from June 10-14. The second Test will coincide with the ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand on June 18.
After the Tests, the five Twenty20 Internationals will take place in Granada from June 26 to July 5.
Australia will play only limited-overs cricket against the West Indies. They will also play five Twenty20 Internationals and they will play three ODIs. Australia secured a 1-1 draw against the West Indies in the last Twenty20 International series played in 2012. Australia will play five Twenty20 Internationals in St Lucia from July 9 to 16. This will be followed by three ODIs in Barbados from July 20 to 24.
Pakistan will be the last team to visit the West Indies. However, unlike South Africa and Australia, their Twenty20 International series will be split in two legs. Pakistan will play their first two Twenty20 Internationals in Barbados while the final three matches will take place in Georgetown. Pakistan will end their tour with two Tests in Jamaica. In 2017, Pakistan finally ended over 50 years of pain when they won a Test series in West Indies for the first time. That series marked the end of Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq’s career.
