We have to win every game, says Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul

Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper KL Rahul has stated that his side will be looking to win every game remaining in their league campaign of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Rahul’s side lost by nine wickets against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday, making it three consecutive losses. Their sole triumph was recorded against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Punjab-based franchise’s league campaign opener. This has left PBKS in a very precarious position after four games.

“Every game from now on is going to be important for us, we as Punjab Kings have always been in that sort of position, we get to a point where we have to win everything,” said Rahul as quoted by Punjab Kings’ official website.

“It is not a bad place to be in to be honest. Now it is about going out there and playing with some freedom, and that will do a lot of good for us as a group. Hopefully, we can learn from our mistakes and keep getting better,” said captain KL Rahul in the post-match interview,” added the PBKS skipper.

Tough Conditions At MA Chidambaram Stadium

The Punjab-based franchise played its first game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai for IPL 2021, while facing off against SRH. Rahul acknowledged the tough conditions, admitting that his side fell 10-15 runs short.

“The conditions were tough, we knew what to expect but we did fall 10-15 runs short. A few batters after getting set couldn’t go through and the bowlers tried very hard, but it is very difficult coming into new conditions and adapting quickly. Hopefully we learn from this mistake when we have our next game here,” he concluded.

The Punjab-based franchise has not won a single edition of the cash-rich league so far. It will be interesting to see if they can end the barren run with a triumph this season.
