Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is the only other Indian player to have completed 10,000 runs in international cricket at home. Tendulkar reached the milestone in 223 innings, becoming the third-fastest player to accumulate this massive tally.

Former Sri Lanka batsman Mahela Jayawardene also reached the 10,000 run mark in the same number of innings. Kumar Sangakkara and South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis are also the quickest, with 229 and 236 innings respectively.

Records galore for Kohli

Kohli further registered his 104th fifty-plus score in ODIs, surpassing Kallis who recorded 103 fifty-plus scores in 328 matches of the 50-over format. The Team India skipper is now the batsman with the fourth-highest number of fifty-plus scores, after Tendulkar, Sangakkara and Ponting.

While Tendulkar recorded 145 fifty-plus scores in the 50-over format, Sangakkara registered 118 with 112 for Ponting respectively.

However, an area of concern despite all these records would be the drought the 32-year-old Team India skipper is in the middle of when it comes to centuries. August 14, 2019 was the last time Kohli had scored a 100 in an ODI and that was against the West Indies in Port of Spain.
