Top 3 highest run-getters in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022-23

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022-23 has finished with a bang where Maharashtra took on Saurashtra in the final on December 2, Friday and Saurashtra won by 5 wickets as well. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a century and guided his side to a total of 248 runs in their allotted overs. While chasing, Sheldon Jackson smashed an unbeaten 133 and helped his side reach the target within 47 overs.

N Jagadeesan

N Jagadeesan, the Tamil Nadu batter has finished the tournament as the leading run-getter with 830 runs in 8 games. He has smashed 5 centuries – the highest in the tournament so far. Moreover, he has hit 73 boundaries as well. However, the opener broke the world record and became the first player to score five consecutive tons, the first by an Indian as well.

He is also the sixth batter to hit a double century in Vijay Hazare Trophy. His 228* now also holds the record for the highest ever score in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well. He surpassed Mumbai’s Prithvi Shaw (227 v Puducherry in 2021) as well.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Maharashtra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has finished the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer with 660 runs in 5 games. He hit three consecutive tons – 108 in the final, 168 in Semi Final, 220* in Qualifiers as well. However, this was his second brilliant season on a row as he had scored 603 runs, again with four centuries, in five matches of the 2021-22 edition of tournament as well. Notably, he smashed the highest number of sixes in this tournament this season as well – 34.

Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan, the Tamil Nadu opener has did exceptionally well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022. He finished as the third leading run-getter as well. He smashed 3 centuries and also hit 66 boundaries in the entire tournament. However, he is expected to carry forward his sublime form in the next tournament as well.
