West Indies player Sheldon Cottrell was born on 19th August 1989. He is a left-arm fast-medium pace bowler and a right-handed batsman too. In first-class cricket, Cottrell plays for the Leeward Islands. However, he made his debut in the longer format in November 2013 against India at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Meanwhile, he is known for his celebration after taking a wicket. He marches and salutes to the pavilion after opening his arms to the heavens (formerly a dab) after every single wicket he takes as he is a Jamaican Defence Force soldier as well.

Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) bought him in the 2020 IPL auction before the 2020 Indian Premier League but he was later released prior to the 2021 Indian Premier League as well.
