Rapid Antigen tests were conducted on Chennai Super Kings staff members who had tested positive for the virus earlier on Monday. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan, bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji and a bus cleaner were the members in that camp that tested positive for COVID-19 based on the RT-PCR tests which were conducted over the last 48 hours.

Now, according to a TOI report, those three members who had tested positive have returned negative results for the rapid antigen tests that were conducted on Monday afternoon. The report also states that these three members will undergo another test on Monday for confirmation.

“The CSK team will undergo another testing today of those who are found positive. CSK wants to double check the testing reports. Till then, all players have been informed to stay under isolation and further tests will be done on every individual,” a BCCI source has told The Indian Express.

Meanwhile, five ground staff members have also tested positive for the virus but DDCA chief Rohan Jaitley said that while the results were true, none of those groundsmen were on duty.

Earlier on Monday, KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for COVID-19. The rest of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad returned negative results.

“Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the squad. The Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo and are monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases and treat them at the earliest,” the statement, released by the IPL, read.
