Former Pakistan skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed will lead the Quetta Gladiators this season as well. England’s Jason Roy has been their best batter so far in the tournament. The likes of Martin Guptill and Iftikhar Ahmed are also available meaning the line-up is not lacking in firepower, Guptill scored a magnificent 100 last game and took his team over the line. Naseem Shah will be a huge part of the Gladiators’ attack, he has done exceeding well in the last couple of seasons, even this season he has performed exceedingly well. Hasnain is another player who has delivered goods at crucial junctures of the game. Quetta has a brilliant spin attack as well, Hasaranga and Mohammad Nawaz will do the bulk of the bowling in middle overs.
Quetta Gladiators faced a heavy defeat in their first match against the Multan Sultans where they lost by 9 wickets but managed to win the next game. They went on to win their next game but lost to Peshawar on the 19th of February. On the other side of the spectrum, the Qalandars have had a contrasting start to their upcoming opponent. They have played just one match and initiated it on a high. The defending champions were a part of the tournament opener against the Multan Sultans and emerged victorious by a single run. Lahore Qalandars will be led by the star Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, they also have Haris Rauf in the team alongside the exciting talent Zaman Khan.
Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, and Hussain Talat are the Pakistani players in the team, while the overseas unit comprises spin wizard Rashid Khan (he will miss the first half of the season with international duties) Sikandar Raza, David Wiese, Liam Dawson, Jordan Cox, Kusal Mendis, and Sam Billings. Lahore Qalandars is coming into this game on the back of the defeat to the Karachi Kings in their second match and would want to get back to winning ways. It promises to be an entertaining affair and once again will be played at the National Stadium Karachi which offers a batting pitch.
