Babar Azam was drafted into the Peshawar Zalmi for the 2023 edition of the PSL and he will lead the side, Wahab Riaz will be the vice-captain and the team has some exciting players like Tom Kohler Cadmore, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Rovman Powell, and Mujeeb Ur Rehman are some other international stars to keep an eye on. Zalmi have had a hot and cold season so far and would want to get consistency as we approach the business end of the tournament. Jimmy Neesham was brilliant in the last game, he was excellent with the ball and made a valuable contribution with bat which earned him the player of the match award. Peshawar Zalmi has been a very consistent team for the past few seasons but hasn’t been able to replicate the same performance this season. They are coming into this game after a defeat against the Lahore Qalandars.
On the other hand, this is a crucial game for Karachi Kings, as they have already incurred three defeats in four outings. Despite getting a poor start to their PSL campaign, Multan Sultans bounced back remarkably, winning their subsequent three fixtures comprehensively. Under Mohammad Rizwan’s inspirational leadership, the Sultans crushed Quetta Gladiators by nine wickets and followed it up with two clinical wins against Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United. They are a team in form and will be hard to defeat at home. Some of the senior players of the Karachi Kings need to stand up and put in a valuable performances in today’s encounter. Both teams would wanna get back to winning ways and add to the tally of points as we enter the business end of the tournament.
