Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers will be facing off in the 20th match of the Big Bash League 2022 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. This will be the second time these two teams will be facing each other in the tournament, In the first match Perth Scorchers went on to win the match by 61 runs. The Perth Scorchers are placed 2nd on the points table. Faf du Plessis has been brilliant at the top of the order, Aston Turner hasn’t had the best of the starts to the campaign personally but has led the team well. Perth’s bowling looks formidable and the major reason behind their success over the years and this season as well.
On the other hand, the Melbourne Stars, have started the season in a poor way, they are languishing at the bottom of the table on the 7th position with just one win out of the four games. Joe Clarke scored a magnificent 100 and has looked like a million dollars in the tournament so far. Marcus Stoinis failed in both games and is yet to fire in the tournament. Skipper Adam Zampa has led from the front, Luke Wood, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Trent Boult haven’t lived up to the expectations and will need to stand up in the game and deliver the good for the Stars.
Perth Scorchers look very strong on paper, their bowling attack is one of the strongest in this tournament and with the inclusion of Faf du Plessis, the batting unit looks solid as well. It will be a tight game, but with big names like Glenn Maxwell and Haris Rauf missing from the Stars’ lineup, Perth Scorchers will fancy their chances of getting over the line in this encounter.
