Cricketer Rishabh Pant is undergoing treatment at Dehradun’s Max Hospital after being involved in a serious automobile accident on Friday. A steady stream of visitors, including legislators, ministers, bureaucrats, and even actors, is pouring in to see him. His family is concerned that people are coming in to see him “beyond the prescribed visiting hours. “It is important that Rishabh gets sufficient time to rest, not just physically but mentally too. He is still in pain due to the injuries sustained in the accident. He has to speak to visitors, which drains his energy that should be preserved for faster recovery. People planning to visit him should avoid it for now and let him rest, a medical team member taking care of Pant was quoted as saying by the TOI.

Actors Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor, Indian cricketer Nitish Rana, Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar, and local administration officials have all visited Pant in the ICU ward where he is being treated. On Saturday, he was also greeted by a team from the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), led by its director, Shyam Sharma. Meanwhile, according to hospital authorities, the cricketer was moved from the ICU to a private unit late on Sunday.

Sushil Kumar, the man who saved Pant’s life

The images of Rishabh Pant’s horrifying high-speed car accident and miraculous escape from the crushed vehicle that caught fire frighten and concern. It’s nothing short of a miracle that he did not sustain any life-threatening injuries. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter owed everything to the man who proved to be a God-sent help in saving his life. Pant could hardly raise his hand to thank Sushil Kumar, a Haryana Roadways bus driver, as he was transferred onto a stretcher and into an ambulance at the scene of the collision on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.
