The Pitch at the Pindi Club Stadium has been a belter over the years, the ball comes onto the bat very well and the batters enjoy batting at this venue.
Pakistan will cross swords with New Zealand in the 2nd ODI of the five-match series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Pakistan currently leads the series 1-0. Pakistan won the toss and put New Zealand in to bat first, Will Young and Daryl Mitchell batted brilliantly scoring fifty and a hundred respectively. However, New Zealand lost wickets fell in the back end of the innings, Pakistan’s fast bowling trio Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf were brilliant in restricting the visitors to a below-par total of 288/7 in the 50 overs.
Chasing the target, Pakistan started off brilliantly, their top three took the game away from New Zealand. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq started strongly with a 100-plus partnership. Fakhar Zaman went on to score a century while his partner Imam was dismissed after getting a gritty fifty. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan took Pakistan over the line with a five-wicket. New Zealand need to rethink their strategy, try to play aggressive cricket and score more than 300 to challenge Pakistan. New Zealand will be trying to level the series and Pakistan will come hard to make it 2-0. We are all set for another mouth-watering encounter at the Rawalpindi Stadium.

This venue has produced plenty of high-scoring contests in the 2023 season of the PSL and the recently concluded T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand. The weather continues to be warm and dry in Pindi. The captain who wins the toss will look to chase the total down in the 2nd innings.
