Former Pakistan skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed will lead the Quetta Gladiators this season too. England’s Jason Roy has been their best batter so far in the tournament. The likes of Martin Guptill and Iftikhar Ahmed are also available meaning the line-up is not lacking in firepower, Guptill scored a magnificent 100 last game and took his team over the line. Naseem Shah will be a huge part of the Gladiators’ attack, he has done exceeding well in the last couple of seasons, even this season he has performed exceedingly well. Hasnain is another player who has delivered goods at crucial junctures of the game. Quetta has a brilliant spin attack as well, Hasaranga and Mohammad Nawaz will do the bulk of the bowling in middle overs. Naseem Shah has been one of the pick of the bowlers and has made valuable contributions so far in the season.
Quetta Gladiators faced a heavy defeat in their first match against the Multan Sultans where they lost by 9 wickets but managed to win the next game. They went on to win their next game but lost to Peshawar on the 19th of February. On the other hand, Islamabad United have played only 2 games so far in the tournament and ended up on the winning side. The previous season, Islamabad United won just four out of ten games last season and managed to qualify for the playoffs due to a higher net run rate. They defeated the Kings twice last season, and the other two wins came against Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. Rassie van der Dussen has been signed in the United side. They have some exciting youngsters as well who will be raring to go out tomorrow. Abrar Ahmed, who had a great Test debut against England last year, is also a part of the squad, it will be interesting to see how effective the mystery bowler will be tomorrow. Hasan Ali was magnificent with the ball and Rahmanullah Gurbaz ensured that there are no stutters while chasing. It was a brilliant team performance.
