Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola praised Virat Kohli and his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side after registering four consecutive victories in the opening stages of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL). Kohli’s men registered a mammoth 10-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday to send them to the top of the league standings. Guardiola’s Manchester City is also at the top of the English Premier League (EPL) table and they are all set to be crowned the champions for the 2020-21 season.

RCB beat RR at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to register their fourth successive win in the campaign. The Royals managed to score 177 in their 20 overs in what seemed like a defendable total. However, the Challengers made a mockery of the target and chased it down with all ten wickets in hand and over three overs to spare. Openers Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli ran riot at the Wankhede as the RR bowlers were subjected to severe punishment.

After the match concluded, Guardiola uploaded a picture on Instagram, holding the RCB jersey, with the caption, “It’s time to finally learn cricket’s rules. Thanks to my friend @virat.kohli for the shirt. Now is time to use your Man City shirt @pumaindia @pumafootball #PUMAxRCB.”

During an Instagram live session organised by Puma last year, Kohli and Guardiola were engaged in conversation about their love for football. Both are brand ambassadors for Puma. Pep is considered to be one of the greatest football managers of all time. He has numerous titles at every major club that he has managed. The list includes Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

He was the architect behind one of the greatest Barcelona sides in the history of the game which included the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andreas Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique, and several others.
