Due to an injury, England all-rounder Liam Livingstone has been ruled out of the remainder of the Test series against Pakistan. During the red-ball match between the Men in Green and the English team, the flamboyant batter is believed to have suffered a knee injury. Livingstone hurt his right knee when fielding on the second day in Rawalpindi, according to cricketer turned broadcaster Nasser Hussain. Furthermore, following a comprehensive examination, the player quickly exited the field as directed by management.

Livingstone is expected to return to the UK, on December 6th, for the medical team to assess his condition and select the best course of treatment and rehabilitation. With the departure of the all-rounder, the Three Lions have yet to announce a replacement and may do so soon. The 29-year-old earned his national team debut after being selected for his spin and ball-striking ability. However, with Livingstone out, England will be looking for a suitable replacement.

Pakistan chasing a daunting total

With the visitors scoring 657 runs and 264 runs in their two batting innings, Pakistan registered 579 runs and are now chasing 343 runs to win the first red-ball match. With seven wickets remaining, England will make every effort to generate a favourable result on the last day. Both teams are firing on all cylinders to get the better of the other, and a result is what both teams will be going for; nevertheless, a draw is still possible. Following the end of the first match, the two teams will square off in the second Test of the three-match series, which is set to begin in Multan on Friday, December 9th.
