The Lankan Premier League 2022 is slated to get underway from July 31. It will mark the third edition of the Lankan Premier League with five teams set to battle out for the top prize. The entire league will be played in Colombo and Hambantota with the final match set to take place on August 21 with the player draft of the upcoming season taking place on Tuesday.
There were dark clouds hovering over the start of the tournament due to political unrest in the island nation but the Sri Lanka Cricket has given it a go-ahead after successfully hosting Australia in the limited-overs format. The initial matches of the tournament will be held in Colombo before the league moving to Hambantota.

The 20-Round Draft were categorized under: ‘International Ruby,’ ‘International Sapphire,’ ‘International Diamond ‘A’ and ‘B,’ and ‘International Platinum’, a ‘Gold Round’. Every franchise was allowed to retain six players from their squad of the previous season.
