Krunal Pandya, the elder brother of Hardik Pandya, will be part of the Lucknow Super Giants franchise for IPL 2022. He was bought for Rs 8.25 crore by the franchise. At one point, Krunal Pandya would have played alongside his brother Hardik Pandya for the Gujarat Titans. But, at the last moment, Krunal Pandya was snapped up by Lucknow Super Giants. Mitchell Marsh, the penultimate name in the all-rounder list, was bid for by Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Delhi Capitals jumped in. In the end, Delhi Capitals acquired Mitchell Marsh for Rs 6.5 crore.

Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lanka legpsinner, was part of an intense bid between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings. Royal Challengers Bangalore jumped in at the end. This resulted in the Sri Lanka legspinner breaking the bank for IPL 2022 Mega Auction. However, Hasaranga had Rs 10.25 crore and the bid was with Royal Challengers Bangalore. But, a medical emergency has halted the auction. After a break of 80 minutes, the auction resumed.

Hugh Edmeades Falls Ill, Auction Suspended

Hugh Edmeades, the auctioneer, suffered from low blood pressure and he fell down the stage. The BCCI stated that Edmeades was safe. Former cricket commentator Charu Sharma continued the auction. After the bid resumed, Hasaranga was purchased for Rs 10.75 Crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore. After Wanindu Hasaranga, Washington Sundar was up and he got bids from Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans. Sunrisers Hyderabad then jumped in and they acquired him for Rs 8.75 Crore

Devdutt Padikkal went to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 7.75 crore in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. However, the other star was Nitish Rana. After an intense bid from Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders, Nitish Rana went to KKR for Rs 8 crore. There was a major surprise as Suresh Raina went unsold. This could probably be the first time that he does not feature in any team. In another major jolt, Steve Smith also went unsold although he could feature in the Sunday accelerated auction. Even Shakib Al Hasan went unsold.

But, in the overseas club, Jason Holder became the star as there was intense bidding from Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals. After some major deliberations, Jason Holder was bought for Rs 8.75 crore by Luckow Super Giants.

David Warner Returns to Delhi Capitals, Shreyas Iyer Gets Rs 12.25 Crore.

David Warner has come back to Delhi after a gap of almost a decade. The Australian left-hander, who was the star for Sunrisers Hyderabad for nine years, has been selected by the Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.25 crore. Warner had intense bids from Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians but in the end, Delhi Capitals got his services.

Shreyas Iyer became the first player to break the Rs 10 crore price range in IPL 2022 Mega Auction. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 12.25 crore as teams clamored for his services. In addition, Mohammed Shami was sold to Gujarat Titans for Rs 6.25 crore after an intense bid from Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was tipped that Shreyas Iyer would be bid big time and it was proven to be right.
