Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on the two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday, in a game that promises to be an enthralling encounter, at least on paper. KKR have not won the Indian Premier League (IPL) crown since 2014 while MI have been serial winners. Both sides have potential game-changers who can be valuable additions to a Dream 11 side. It also poses a dilemma to managers, given the limited amount of funds required to pick the players.

The Knight Riders marginally missed out on making it to the playoff stages of the tournament last season. They finished fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore, only behind on net run rate. MI, however, won their fifth title and is by far the most successful franchise in the league.

After the opening matches of both teams, it is safe to say the Knight Riders would probably not experiment with the starting lineup after a win. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, might tweak the starting XI a bit.
