Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli lost his temper after being dismissed in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 league match against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). Kohli was dismissed for 33 runs off 29 deliveries, following a top edge off a short delivery by Jason Holder. The cricketer attempted to swat the ball through the leg-side but failed to generate proper contact, with Vijay Shankar sprinting in from long leg to complete a diving catch. Kohli was seen slamming a chair with his bat in the RCB dug-out, as he walked back to the pavilion.

The same is visible in a video uploaded by a fan on social media platform Twitter.

“#RCBvsSRH Exasperated Virat Kohli caught on camera hitting a chair with his bat while walking off to pavilion after getting out tonight.#IPL2021 #IPL #ViratKohli #ABdeVilliers,” read the caption on the video uploaded.

No half-century against SRH since final of IPL 2016

The RCB skipper started his innings on a confident note, smashing Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a boundary in the first over of the game. Kohli kept the scoreboard ticking despite the quick dismissals of Devdutt Padikkal and Shahbaz Ahmed. He stitched a 44-run stand with Glenn Maxwell, who eventually went on to record his first half-century in the cash-rich league since the 2016 edition.

However, Kohli has not scored a 50 against the Hyderabad-based franchise since the final of the 2016 edition of the cash-rich league. David Warner’s men defeated RCB in the match, to win the IPL for the first time. The 32-year-old had managed just 58 runs in the last 6 innings against SRH at an average of less than 10 runs — 12, 3, 16, 14, 7, 6.

RCB got their IPL 2021 league campaign off to a glorious start, with a triumph in their opening fixture against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI).
