Ravi Bishnoi left fans stunned following a superb diving catch to dismiss Sunil Narine in an IPL 2021 face-off between PBKS and KKR.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) spinner Ravi Bishnoi is considered one of the most exciting young bowlers in Indian cricket. Bishnoi’s ability to get the ball to move at a quick pace makes him one to watch out for. The 20-year-old is however quite excellent as a fielder as well, which was certainly evident from his mind-boggling catch to dismiss Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Sunil Narine. PBKS were taking on KKR in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 league encounter on Monday when the Indian cricketer decided to give the masses a taste of his fantastic fielding.

Narine attempted to slog across the line following a length delivery by pacer Arshdeep Singh. The agricultural slog might have landed safely if not for a fantastic effort by Bishnoi, who ran in before diving full length to take a blinder. The young cricketer’s effort was the second such instance of fine fielding from the same game, with Rahul Tripathi making his presence felt in the first innings.
Tripathi took a brilliant catch diving forward to dismiss PBKS opener Mayank Agarwal, who had a tough time getting bat on ball, despite scoring 31 runs. The KKR player’s landing seemed awkward and painful at first glance but he was immediately back on his feet, celebrating with his teammates. The wicket went to Narine who had a brilliant bowling spell.
The Windies cricketer however certainly got a feel of Mayank’s emotions after being dismissed soon enough, which is an indication of how quickly things can change in a game of cricket.
The Punjab-based franchise has won only two games out of a total five played so far. The two triumphs were recorded against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI).
The Kolkata-based franchise has registered a triumph in only their opening league game of the season. They have suffered a defeat in their last four matches of the league campaign, which is certainly an area of concern for the team.
It will be interesting to see if they can snap the winless run tonight, at the expense of the Punjab-based franchise who are struggling as well. KKR have won the cash-rich league on two occasions, with PBKS yet to record a league triumph even once.
