Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are currently at the bottom of the points table in IPL 2021. Sanju Samson’s team have won two out of six games and thus are still in the mix. However, the situation is dire for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. David Warner was dropped as the captain and Kane Williamson will lead the side. They have won only one out of their six games. If they lose against Rajasthan Royals, they will be in a situation where they will have to win all their remaining seven games to even have a chance of a playoff in IPL 2021. This has been a woeful season for Sunrisers Hyderabad, capped with the dismissal of Warner.

Both sides have not kept the playing 11s intact for most of the games. Manish Pandey, their experienced campaigner who was dropped for a couple of games, came back and scored well against Chennai Super Kings. However, the pace bowling has suffered due to Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s injury and the absence of T Natarajan. Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have also been plagued by inconsistency.

The batting is reliant on Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson while the bowling is dependent on Chris Morris. If Buttler and Samson fail, then the entire batting is under pressure. The bowling has not delivered on a consistent basis. It is this inconsistency that has plagued not just Rajasthan Royals but also Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Team News

The game against Chennai Super Kings saw Sunrisers Hyderabad strengthen their batting but they need a bit more help from the bowling. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals’ bowling attack suffered while their batting was good only in parts.
