Mumbai Indians (MI) fast-bowler Trent Boult made a hilarious request to his teammates, following a comeback win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 league encounter. The Mumbai-based franchise uploaded a video from a dressing room interaction, following the 10-run win against KKR. Boult can be seen requesting his fellow MI players to not make him bat, indicating a complete lack of interest in the same. “Brilliant to get over the line in the end. Obviously nice to hang in there. Some good lessons out there. Let’s take those and move forward move into the next part of the tournament. But, please don’t make me bat alright. I don’t want it,” said the New Zealand pacer.

The video which comprises of the funny request by the fast-bowler has been uploaded on social media platform Twitter.

“Here’s what our players had to after being adjudged as the Dressing Room Players of the Match #OneFamily #MumbaiIndians #MI #KKRvMI #IPL2021 @surya_14kumar @trent_boult @Jaspritbumrah93 @krunalpandya24,” read the caption on the video uploaded.

Spinners help MI emerge victorious

Boult had words of praise for the spin department, who he believed played a crucial role in helping MI emerge victorious having been bowled out for 152.

“It is a good feeling to close out a game like that. It shows the importance of staying in it. Four tidy overs from Krunal – it played a big role in containing KKR’s runs. Bumrah was disappointed he dropped the catch off Russel, but he was crucial in getting us back in the game,” he said as quoted by the official website of the Mumbai Indians.

“I haven’t played too much of cricket here, but these guys are very experienced, our spinners did well. They kept the dots building – I suppose it’s the golden rule. It is never an easy start on wickets like this. It’s the cliche of putting pressure on the new batsmen,” added Boult.

Rahul Chahar was the pick of the bowlers for MI, accounting for four dismissals. He ended the game with these figures – 4-0-27-4 – his best performance in IPL so far.
