Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are similar in many ways when it comes to the Indian Premier League. Both sides have never won the title. Their best performances were a finals appearance. In IPL 2021, they have endured similar fortunes. In their previous games, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings suffered defeats. Delhi Capitals failed to take the initiative as one wrong captaincy decision resulted in Rajasthan Royals staging a comeback. Punjab Kings, on the other hand, were soundly thrashed by Chennai Super Kings after being blown away in the powerplay.

Heading into the clash, Delhi Capitals would be looking to forget the loss against Rajasthan Royals as quickly as possible. For Punjab Kings, the nature of the defeat against Chennai Super Kings has seen them getting hurt mentally. They will have to bounce back in a rapid fashion if they have to build momentum in IPL 2021.

Both sides have plenty of star power. The talent in the batting and bowling is simply sensational. It will be a tough contest.

1.) Kagiso Rabada vs Chris Gayle

The Universe Boss is the ultimate Twenty20 batsman. Kagiso Rabada, on the other hand, is one of the best bowlers in the world. In the past, Rabada has had the number over Gayle in contests. If Rabada can get Gayle’s wicket cheaply, then Punjab Kings could be hurt in a big way.

2.) Rishabh Pant vs KL Rahul

It is the battle of two wicketkeeper-batsmen again. However, this battle goes much deeper. A strong performance by either Pant or Rahul could put them in pole position for a longer run in the Indian cricket team in the limited-overs format. Pant has been great so far while Rahul is a proven performer. The performance of the captains will decide which way the match goes.

3.) Shikhar Dhawan vs Mayank Agarwal

Both openers are experienced. Dhawan has been the pillar of Delhi Capitals’ batting ever since his strong show in IPL 2020. Agarwal, on the other hand, will be determined to prove his consistency. The tone set by the openers will be vital for a big score at the Wankhede stadium.

4.) Shahrukh Khan vs Lalit Yadav

Both players made an impact in the Syed Mushtaq Ali. Lalit Yadav has more experience playing in the IPL than Mohammad Shahrukh Khan. However, the Tamil Nadu player has been sensational. In the previous game, he stood tall among the ruins. Lalit Yadav, on the other hand, was great with the ball and head coach Ricky Ponting has only had good things to say.

5.) Marcus Stoinis vs Deepak Hooda

The battle of the two finishers will be key in this contest. Stoinis has not started IPL 2021 in great fashion. Hooda, on the other hand, blasted 64 off 28 balls against Rajasthan Royals but struggled against Chennai Super Kings. Stoinis and Hooda will be the key for their respective teams as to how they can deflate the opponents at the end.
