More troubles follows for the IPL 2021 bio bubble secured matches as players from KKR and CSK have tested positive for COVID-19. Now, Delhi Capitals have been asked by BCCI to isolate after two players from KKR– Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive. The Capitals had played their last match with the Kolkata side and that is the reason why BCCI asked the Capitals to take the precautionary measure.

Since BCCI is yet to discover how Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier contracted Covid-19, this is the first step towards taking precaution against the pandemic. DC is now under quarantine.

“As we had played our last game against KKR, we have been advised to go into quarantine and all of us are in isolation. We are all in our rooms,” a Delhi Capitals official said as quoted by Cricbuzz.

“The duration of the quarantine is not immediately known but there is now no guarantee that the Delhi team’s scheduled practice session at the Motera on Tuesday (May 4) will take place. We don’t have any information if that practice session will go ahead,” the official added.

More trouble follows IPL 2021 bio-bubble

Rohan Jaitley, the president at the Delhi & Districts Cricket Association, confirmed that none of the DDCA groundsmen who tested positive were present at the stadium over the weekend.

“Since the numbers (in Delhi) peaked we had put them (ground staff) in-house in a bubble and they were staying at the stadium. Since it is a taxing job, they get drained out. So we have ground staff that is off-site tested and quarantined. After every few matches we rotate them,” he said to Cricinfo.

Jaitley also sounded confident that the Tuesday matches between SRH and MI will go according to the schedule and will not be cancelled. However, Hyderabad and Mumbai players also cancelled their practice session on Monday after five DDCA groundsmen tested positive for the novel virus.

As per a Cricinfo report, the Capitals also moved their regular testing, scheduled originally for Tuesday, to Monday.
