In November and December, Mumbai will host two different under-19 women’s tri-series series involving West Indies under-19 and New Zealand under-19 sides. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled the games in preparation for the first-ever women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup in South Africa due to be held next year. BCCI will field two teams (India U-19 A and B) to face the visiting West Indies and New Zealand sides.
According to a report by a cricket website, the BCCI has requested that the games be held in Mumbai by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). These games are tentatively scheduled to take place from November 20 to December 6 at DY Patil Stadium and BKC Ground. The inaugural Under 19 Women’s T20 World Cup will take place from January 14 to 29 next year just prior to the Senior Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled in the same country.

These matches will give the selectors an opportunity to look at the players ahead of the world cup. But before these youth series, the girls will have an opportunity to showcase their talent in the U-19 Challengers trophy. The U19 T20 Challengers, which begins on November 1, will feature 52 players divided into four teams, each of which will play each other once before the top two teams qualify for the final.
