Apart from the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup on home soil and the Asia Cup in Pakistan, India are set to play eight Tests, 18 ODIs, and 17 T20Is in 2023. Next year promises to be a fun-filled ride once again as the Indian men’s team will be in action for literally every month of the year. Let us take a look at the full schedule for 2023. India will host Sri Lanka for a limited-overs trip that will include three ODIs and three T20Is. New Zealand will tour India for another limited-overs series commencing at the end of January, with three ODIs and three T20Is scheduled. The series means that the two teams will play 12 limited overs matches in four months, with India scheduled to tour New Zealand in November 2022.

The historic Border-Gavaskar series will begin in February 2023 as India’s final games in the ICC men’s Test World Championship 2021-2023, with the hosts currently in fourth place and Australia in first. The competition final will be held in The Oval in England in June 2023. Australia will play four Tests and three One-Day Internationals in India. After this series, Indian players will be in action for 2 months long IPL 2023.

Second Half of 2023

After the 2023 IPL, India will play a multi-format series in the West Indies consisting of two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. In 2023, Pakistan will host the Asia Cup for the first time since 2008. However, disagreements between the BCCI and the PCB have raised questions on whether India will travel to Pakistan, with BCCI secretary and Asia Cricket Council President Jay Shah urging that the event be staged somewhere neutral.

In preparation for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup the following month, Australia will return to India for a three-match One-Day International series. For the first time, India will host the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in a single host in 2023. They hope to win the event for the first time since 2011. Following the completion of the World Cup, Australia will play a five-match T20I series in India on their third tour of the year. India’s final fixtures of the year will take them to South Africa for a multi-format series that will last into the new year. The series will include two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
