The 10 IPL franchises had been asked to submit their list of retained players by November 15, the franchises can bid for players in the upcoming auction with the balance amount left after what they spent during the last mega auction and also with the amount they get the released players. There were some big names released and it gives the franchises an opportunity to grab them in the upcoming auction in December. Here are the top 3 players who could earn big in the IPL 2023 mini-auction.

Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo joined Chennai Super Kings over a decade ago and was an important cog in CSK’s success. The Caribbean all-rounder reached the pinnacle of his career in the yellow jersey. However, he might be seen in a different shade in IPL 2023, having been released by the Super Kings before the mini-auction. Bravo is 39 years old and has blown hot and cold in the last few years. In the last edition of the IPL, Bravo was the highest wicket-taker of CSK, having scalped 16 wickets at an impressive bowling average of 18.69. With Bravo back in the mix of the auction pool, there will be a lot of teams eyeing him and expect the bid to go very high for this T20 legend.

Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson was one of the most expensive players who was released by the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the previous edition, he was retained for INR 14 crores. After finishing eighth in the league last season, the Sunrisers decided to make the bold move of releasing their captain Kane Williamson ahead of the mini-auction. The right-hand batter has had a stellar IPL career so far and his captaincy skills add to the ability of this well-experienced player. Williamson didn’t live up to the expectation in the recently concluded T20 World Cup but is potentially a brilliant pick for others teams who are in the hunt for a captain. The New Zealand skipper is likely to get sold at a very high price in the upcoming mini-auction.

Mayank Agrawal

The Punjab Kings decided to part ways with Mayank Agarwal as they released the player ahead of the auction. The right-hander was retained for NR 14 crores last season and also given the responsibility to lead the team, after having a fantastic run in the IPL 2021 edition, where he scored 441 runs at an average in excess of 40 and a strike rate in excess of 140. Mayank had a poor season with the bat in 2022 scoring just 196 runs in 13 matches with an average of 16.33, this clearly affected his captaincy too and the team finished sixth on the points table. Apart from last season, Agarwal has been one of the most consistent batters in IPL since 2019 and a lot of teams will be aware of this and will go bid for him in the mini-action scheduled to be held in December.
