India Women will take on Ireland Women in the 18th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on Monday, February 20. South Africa is the host of the mega event where the event begins on February 10th with a match between South Africa and Sri Lanka. However, Australia are the defending champion where the final Women’s T20 World Cup match was played in early 2020 at the MCG to watch the hosts Australia beat India by 85 runs. A record number of 86,174 spectators were present there as well.
Meanwhile, South Africa has recently hosted the inaugural Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup where India registered a convincing win as well. However, most of the games, including both semifinals and the final game, will take place in Newlands as well. While five matches will be played at St George’s Park in Gqeberha over the course of seven days, a few games will take place at Boland Park in Paarl as well. While Australia are the firm favourite, other teams will give a tough fight too and they have already shown their potential in the tournament.
