Team India have been in a neutral position so far in the ongoing second Test against South Africa. And, former India player turned famous commentator Aakash Chopra has made his predictions for the fourth day where the hosts need 122 runs more to win the match with eight wickets in hand as well.

While they seem to be in a better position at the moment, a flurry of wickets can make things worse for them on the seamer-friendly wicket. In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra has predicted that Team India will beat the Proteas as well.

He shared: “I feel India will win by a slender margin. Our hearts will be in our mouths. It will be a very close encounter. At one point, the thought will come to our mind that it might end in a tie. All those kinds of things can happen but it will be an interesting one.”

The former India opener also feels South Africa player Dean Elgar will play an important knock but he will not be able to reach the three-figure mark as well. Elgar is currently playing at 46. And, the visitors will hope to dismiss the South African captain as soon as possible to turn the table.

Aakash Chopra again said: “I feel Dean Elgar will cross the 70-run mark but he will not be able to score a century.”

‘I feel Shardul Thakur will pick two more wickets’ – Aakash Chopra

The veteran also reckons that India pacer Shardul Thakur will continue his wicket-taking spree. Thakur has already claimed eight wickets in the match so far. This also includes the key wicket of Aiden Markram in the second innings, apart from his seven-wicket haul in the first innings as well.

He predicted: “I feel Shardul Thakur will pick two more wickets.”

The veteran commentator also stated that Mohammed Shami would pick up a few wickets. However, Shami is yet to take a wicket in South Africa’s second innings. India’s veteran pace bowler, who claimed two scalps in the first innings, helped Team India to a victory with his stunning spell of 5/28 in the second innings the last time when both the teams played a Test at the Wanderers.

Aakash Chopra concluded: “I also feel that Mohammed Shami will pick three or more wickets.”

Considering the situation, no wonder that the match will be a nail-biting one.
