India will play Sri Lanka in the first of three T20I series on Tuesday, January 3rd. The match will be held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and will begin at 7:00 PM IST. The Men in Blue have returned home after a memorable finale to Test cricket. When the Lankans last toured India, they failed to win a single T20I match. They are, however, a significantly improved team and are the Asian champions in this format. As a result, this match is predicted to be a close one.
The Wankhede stadium pitch is a batting paradise. The ball skids off the surface, and the hitters try to take advantage of the bowlers’ speed. Batters would also wish to take advantage of the short boundaries. The dew would just add to the bowlers’ woes and was likely to play a role. The pacers, on the other hand, may like bowling the early overs because there is some movement on offer. We expect to have a full game on the schedule.
