The tour will kick off on November 18th, with the opening T20I at Sky Stadium in Wellington. Many younger players will be back in Indian colours after losing out on a spot in the T20 World Cup. Shreyas Iyer

Iyer got 173 runs in six games in the SMAT 2022 despite being picked as an India reserve player in the T20 World Cup team. Iyer scored 50, 113, and 28 in India’s 2-1 triumph over South Africa in the one-day international series last month. Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar’s last T20I for India was against England in March 2021. A succession of ailments, as well as the availability of a variety of leg-spinners, limited his prospects to one-day internationals. The Chennai-born all-rounder has 25 dismissals in 31 T20 Internationals, with the best stats of 3/22 against Bangladesh in the 2018 Nidahas Trophy. Sundar recently took six wickets for Tamil Nadu in SMAT 2022, with an average of 15.83.

Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan has represented India in 19 T20 Internationals since his debut in March 2021. The left-handed batter has 543 runs at a strike rate of 131.15, with four 50-plus scores. In the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter smashed an unbeaten 102 against Odisha. He would be looking to seal the opening slot as India looks for new openers considering the 2024 T20 World Cup.
