This is the second instance of 2 Indian players making their ODI debut against England in Pune.
Krunal Pandya and Prasidh Krishna were handed an ODI debut in the opening ODI between India and England. Shikhar Dhawan was chosen as the opener at the top of the order following his absence in the T20I series. Dhawan’s opening partner will be Rohit Sharma, who was the key player in the four-Test series.

KL Rahul will be the keeper while Hardik Pandya and brother Krunal the two all-rounders. Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Prasidh Krishna were the pace bowlers, with Kuldeep Yadav the spinner.
Krishna had an impressive showing in the recently concluded edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Karnataka pacer took 14 wickets in seven matches and he helped the side reach the semi-finals. In the knockouts, they were defeated by eventual winners Mumbai. The tall pacer plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, taking 18 wickets in 24 matches for the franchise.
Krunal was also in great form, scoring 388 runs at an average of 129 with two centuries and five wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
This is the first time that the Pandya brothers will play together for India in ODIs. Irfan and Yusuf Pathan were the last brothers in an ODI in March 2012.
