The 26th match of the Indian Premier League 2021 was crucial for Punjab Kings. They had won just two games out of six and a loss would have put them in a terrible position. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore were on a high after beating Delhi Capitals by one run and were in the third position on the table. But, the situation changed in the match at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.

KL Rahul blasted 91 and the knock included seven fours and five sixes. Rahul was assisted by a partnership of 80 with Chris Gayle who hit 46 off 24 balls. Punjab Kings stumbled in the middle overs but some superb hitting from Harpreet Brar and Rahul helped Punjab Kings to 179/5. In response, Royal Challengers Bangalore were undone by Harpreet Brar who took the wickets of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell in the space of seven balls.

Ravi Bishnoi also put in a great effort with the ball and in the field as Punjab Kings won by 34 runs. With this win, Punjab Kings are in fifth position while Royal Challengers Bangalore remained in the third position.
