The ICC Under-19 World Cup is just a couple of days away. However, the coronavirus hassles have cast a shadow on the teams participating in the tournament. Afghanistan’s participation in the ICC Under-19 World Cup is in doubt due to visa issues. England and UAE’s warm-up matches have been rescheduled. New Zealand, on the other hand, has withdrawn from the ICC Under-19 World Cup due to coronavirus quarantine issues.
New Zealand’s cricket team members will have to undergo a lengthy, mandatory period of quarantine upon their return from the West Indies. Afghanistan has been plagued by visa issues and the ICC is reportedly in talks with the Afghanistan Cricket Board. This has meant that Afghanistan’s warm-up games against England and the UAE have been canceled on January 10 and 12. This has forced the ICC to reschedule the warm-up fixtures, with England taking on the UAE on January 11.
