ICC U-19 World Cup 2022: Twitter reacts as Raj Bawa, Angkrish Raghuvanshi guide India to a record win

Raj Bawa scored 162* off 108 and guided India to a convincing win by 326 runs against Uganda. He surpassed Shikhar Dhawan’s score of 155 against Scotland in the 2004 edition of the tournament in Dhaka and registered the highest individual score by an India batsman in the U-19 World Cup history as well.

On the other hand, India opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi also played a stunning knock of 144 off 120, including 22 fours and four sixes. Raghuvanshi and Bawa added 206 for the third-wicket, where Raj Bawa hit eight sixes and India post 405 for 5.

Meanwhile, Uganda captain Pascal Murungi, who claimed 3 for 72 with the ball, was one of two batters to reach the double digits as his team could only manage 79 runs in the chase. India captain Nishant Sindhu has finished with 4 for 19. And, India will face defending champions in the quarterfinal at the Coolidge Cricket Ground on January 29 as well.

Brief scores: India U19: 405/5 in 50 overs (Raj Bawa 162*, Angkrish Raghuvanshi 144; Pascal Murungi 3-72) beat Uganda U19: 79 in 19.4 overs (Pascal Murungi 34; Nishant Sindhu 4-19, Rajvardhan Hangargekar 2-8) by 326 runs.
