ICC Rankings: After the announcement of T20 and ODIs, the test rankings have been announced by ICC. India retained the No. 1 spot in the Test side in ICC Rankings. India’s World Test Championship rival New Zealand is at No. 2 spot, while Australia at No. 3 and England at No. 4th spot.

India registered a 3-1 victory in the Test series against England and retained its ICC Test rankings with 120 points. Their current rivals, New Zealand are just two points behind them.

Australia is at the third place with 113 points while England is 4th with 106 points. Pakistan is at the 5 position with 90 points while South Africa is ranked 6th followed by Sri Lanka and the West Indies test sides.

India will play New Zealand in the World Test Championship final in June. If Kohli’s team can win the finals as well, India will extend their lead at the top spot.

India’s other ICC Rankings?

In the annual update of the ODI Team rankings, India dropped a place to third behind Australia and new table toppers New Zealand.

The Kiwis have replaced reigning world champions England and have taken the number 1 spot in the ODI rankings.

New Zealand defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in their only ODI last year, and moved up two slots after gaining three rating points to reach an aggregate of 121. Australia are second with 118 points while India and England are both on 115.

In the past year, England has lost 1-2 series to Australia and India, as well as an ODI to Ireland.

Despite the pandemic, 80 countries have played the required six T20Is over the past three years to be able to stay in the rankings. Five countries have lost their ranking after the update — Gambia, Ghana, Hungary, Sierra Leone and Sweden.
