Australia W vs England W is always a faceoff with ups and downs. Australia W is the top ranking team in One Day Internationals and it can also be witnessed in their performance in today’s match. It was the 1st ODI of the series, which was played at Gloucestershire Cricket Stadium in Bristol. The ground was considered to favor batters, whereas bowlers might face hard times. Australia W won the toss and elected to bat first. They didn’t get the desired start, as Phoebe Litchfield got out very early. However Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy built a partnership which was continued by Beth Mooney that helped the Australian Women team to reach the total of 263 runs. 

England W team is ranked second in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings list. The England W team is packed with immense talent and experience. It was the home ground for England W, which gives them the advantage. Heather Knight, England Women’s captain lost the toss and was put to bowl first. England’s all rounder Nat Sciver along with Lauren Bell took 2,2 wickets respectively, whereas the rest 4 wickets were taken by 4 different bowlers. England W while chasing the total of 264 lost their first wicket quite early in the form of Sophia Dunkley who scored 8 runs. Tammy and Alice together built a partnership which gave England some momentum. England W captain Heather scored 75 runs and had small partnerships with Nat, Danni and others. At the end, England W chased down the total of 264 and secured their 1st win of the series.

Heather Knight, the captain of England W team took on the responsibility and gave England W team a finish they wanted. Heather scored valuable 75 runs for the team while chasing down the score of 264 against world’s best bowling line-up of Australia W team. Heather was helped by Nat Sciver and Danni Wyatt who scored 31 and 14 runs respectively. Heather at the end partnered with Kate Kross and helped England W, win the match by 2 wickets.
