Dinesh Karthik, who was born on 1st June 1985, is an Indian professional cricketer & Commentator. He plays for the Indian Cricket Team and is currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the cash-rich Indian Premier League. However, he is also the current captain of the Tamil Nadu cricket team in domestic cricket. He made his debut for the national team in 2004 and he also became the 4th Indian batsman to play 300 T20 matches as well.

Dinesh Karthik made his maiden Test century against Bangladesh and he was also India’s leading scorer in their Test tour of England, guiding India to win their first series in England in 21 years as well. But, a lean patch in September 2007, saw him dropping out of the Test team. He has made only a few international appearances since then, although he continues to score well in the domestic season. Meanwhile, between 2018 and 2020, he was the captain of the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he has also worked occasionally as a commentator for the British channel Sky Sports between 2020 and 2021, most notably during India’s tour of England as well.
