Chris Morris shot into the limelight during the IPL 2021 auction. The South Africa pacer was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 16.25 crore. This was the highest amount paid for an overseas player in the history of the tournament. It was also the biggest sum that was ever signed by any player in the history of the IPL. Barring Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, Morris’ price tag of Rs 16.25 has made him one of the priciest members in the IPL.

However, on Tuesday, Chris Morris announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. On his Instagram post, Morris mentioned, “Thanks to all who have played a part in my journey whether it be big or small…it’s been a fun ride.” Following his retirement post, Chris Morris has now signed on as the coach of the Titans side in South Africa.
