Australia Women will play against South Africa Women in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 at Newlands in Cape Town on Sunday, February 26. South Africa is the host of the mega event where the event begins on February 10th with a match between South Africa and Sri Lanka. However, Australia are the defending champion where the final Women’s T20 World Cup match was played in early 2020 at the MCG to watch the hosts Australia beat India by 85 runs. A record number of 86,174 spectators were present there as well.

Meanwhile, South Africa has recently hosted the inaugural Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup where India registered a convincing win as well. However, most of the games, including both semifinals and the final game, will take place in Newlands as well. While five matches will be played at St George’s Park in Gqeberha over the course of seven days, a few games will take place at Boland Park in Paarl as well. While Australia are the firm favourite, other teams will give a tough fight too and they have already shown their potential in the tournament.

Meanwhile, England have reached six women’s World T20 or T20 World Cup semifinals as well where they won four of them and had one washed out as well. South Africa, on the other hand, have been there in the ICC events twice and lost twice as well.

Meanwhile, Australia and South Africa have reached the final after beating India and England respectively. After the win, Proteas skipper Sune Luus said: “England played well it was a great match. I think we were out of it, in it again, out of it again and it just went in waves but I think we do have the best bowling attack in the world and I guess it was against the best batting attack against the world, I just don’t know what to say. We kept saying to them (openers) to be brave and back themselves, they made us extremely proud and that gave us the platform for Marizanne and everyone coming in.”
