Nepal’s valiant effort in the quarter-final match against India has concluded, leaving a lasting impression as they pushed India to their limits. While Nepal may have won hearts with their spirited performance, it was India who ultimately emerged victorious, breathing a sigh of relief. India secured their place in the semi-finals with a hard-fought 23-run win. Nepal’s pursuit of a remarkable 203-run target showcased their determination, with notable contributions from Bhurtel (28 off 32 balls), Malla (29 off 22 balls), Dipendra Singh Airee (32 off 15 balls), and Jora (29 off 12 balls). Despite their fierce resistance, Nepal concluded their innings at 179/9 in 20 overs, with India giving away numerous extras.

Ravi Bishnoi starred among the bowlers with figures of 3/24 in 4 overs, while Avesh Khan provided support with 3 wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh contributed with a couple of wickets, conceding 43 runs in 4 overs, and debutant Sai Kishore impressed with figures of 1/25 in 4 overs. India’s bowlers played a pivotal role in securing the victory against Nepal. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered a spectacular century, scoring 100 off 49 balls to propel India beyond the 200-run mark. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad added 25 off 23 balls, while Shivam Dube contributed 25* off 19 balls.

Rinku Singh played a crucial finishing role, remaining unbeaten on 37* off 15 balls, as India reached 202/4 in 20 overs, with Nepal’s bowlers, including Dipendra Singh Airee, Kami, and Sandeep Lamichhane, managing to pick up some wickets despite initial challenges. Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi both secured three wickets each, showcasing their prowess, while Sai Kishore had a commendable debut as well, maintaining a tight economy rate, and even snaring three catches. In the end, India secured a hard-fought 23-run victory, earning their spot in the semi-finals of the Asian Games.
