Spain vs Poland 2022 FIBA U-18 European Championship Women’s game will be held on August 8. After losing their initial game at the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship, Great Britain’s Under-18 team defeated North Macedonia 71-54 on Monday afternoon. In the third quarter, with their team behind by nine points, something snapped for Kenrick Liburd’s team. A fantastic stretch of play drastically altered the game’s outcome, bringing Great Britain’s Division B record to 1-1. With a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds, Katie Januszewska led the whole team effort. She also added six steals and two blocks. Leia Edwards contributed 11 points, Issy Bunyan had nine points and six assists, while Carys Roy made her tournament debut with 12 points and nine rebounds for a close to a double-double.
With her first points of the match in the second, Edwards ended GB’s scoring drought as both teams struggled to score. North Macedonia utilized a 7-1 run during the final six minutes to take the lead, and Great Britain did not score another field goal in the first half. Forster then ended the run with a long-range two to tie the score at 21 at the break. Early in the third, Edwards scored on an and-1 play, but North Macedonia quickly started to exert pressure as they widened their lead to nine points. Bunyan and Roy, a Welsh team from both ends of the floor, contributed to an 11-3 run that put Great Britain in the lead with a corner three from Violet Stutz.
