Seattle Storm vs Washington Mystics WNBA Playoffs game will take place on August 20 at the Climate Pledge Arena. Sue Bird, who has announced she would retire at the conclusion of this season, will be the centre of attention for the Seattle Storm as she starts her final postseason run. Bird, who has played with the Storm for her entire 19-year career, is the WNBA’s all-time leader in games played, minutes played, and assists. She is a 13-time All-Star. Additionally, she has won four championships, with her first and last victories occurring astonishingly 16 years apart. The Storm, who have a wealth of talent surrounding her and including MVP favorite Breanna Stewart, who has averaged 21.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game this season, will be hoping to send her off on a high note.

Elena Delle Donne, who this season averaged 17.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 blocks a game for the Mystics, is also a previous MVP. It’s time to find out if Washington’s meticulous management of her playing time paid off in keeping her rested and fit for the playoffs. On Thursday, August 18, the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, will host the opening tip at 10:00 p.m. ET. If you want to watch online, Game 1 is now being streamed live on WatchESPN and other streaming bundles like fuboTV.

These teams are likely both stronger than their records suggest, and both are genuine contenders even outside of the No. 4 vs. No. 5 seed game, as Justin Carter noted in this week’s Above the Break: Both of these teams could have won more games this season if it weren’t for injury problems, which is a valid argument. In order to stay fit for the playoffs, Elena Delle Donne rested frequently for the Washington Wizards, who went 18-7 in Delle Donne’s 25 games played. Overall, they were 22-14, thus the games she missed accounted for half of the team’s defeats.
