Otago Nuggets vs Southland Sharks NBL New Zealand match will be held on July 27. The Auckland Tuatara defeated the Franklin Bulls in Auckland, 89-68, in a matchup of teams from the 09 postcode. The game was tied at the half, but a 28-9 fourth quarter helped the Tuatara take control of the game. With this victory, the Tuatara will be guaranteed a berth in the top six, while the Bulls will continue to compete for a playoff spot in what is turning out to be a close race. Siler Schneider scored 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists, while Rob Loe had 25 points and 7 rebounds to lead all scorers. Nicholas Barrow scored 10, Dontae Russo-Nance added 14, Braydon Iuli added 14, and Dontae Russo-Nance had six steals.
In the defeat, Corey Webster scored 17 points and dished out 8 assists, while Nathaniel Potts scored 16 points and Leon Henry had 12 points and 13 rebounds. Midway through the first period, the Tuatara had a commanding 11-3 lead after a good start to the game. On the strength of their outside shooting, the Bulls fought back, scoring three straight triples as part of a 13-0 run. The Bulls led at halftime, 19-16, thanks in large part to Henry’s nine points, all of which came from beyond the arc. They would increase the gap in the second session, taking the lead by 26-20 courtesy of a personal 5-0 run by Potts.
