Red Scare (Dayton) vs Golden Eagles (Marquette) TBT match will be held on July 26. WarReady, an Auburn alumnus-led basketball squad, was established in the past to compete in the TBT basketball competition. TBT is a competition where the winning team receives a $1,000,000 reward. Former collegiate athletes and occasionally even former NBA players make up the field. WarReady is entering its third tournament; in their prior two, they were eliminated after losing in the first round. The WarReady team this year includes players like Bryce Brown, Malik Dunbar, and Danjel Purifoy who were instrumental in getting Auburn to the Final Four in 2019. Several players from the Auburn basketball program’s past are represented on the roster. These men are Quantez Robertson, TJ Dunans, and Mustapha Heron.
They wanted to win their first game as they entered their third competition. They achieved this by defeating the Wofford alumnus-led WoCo Showtime team. WoCo Showtime was beaten by WarReady with a score of 70-67. Because of a method is known as an “Elam Finale,” TBT’s ending is very entertaining. The clock stops and the teams play to a predetermined score when there are less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The number of points the team ahead has determined the desired score. When the Elam Ending occurred, WoCo Showtime and WarReady were tied 62-62, giving WarReady the victory. The objective score was set at 70, thus the winner is the team that reaches it first. The game’s hero was Purifoy, who hit a game-winning three-pointer to give WarReady their first victory in the organization’s existence.
