Latvia will take on Portugal in the 2022 FIBA U-20 Women’s European Championship on July 9. The 2022 FIBA U-20 Women’s European Championship will be hosted in Sopron, Hungary from July 8th to July 16th. The group stage matches will take place during the first four days (July 8–11), immediately followed by the knockout round starting on July 12th. The quarter-finals will kick off on the 12th, then the semi-finals on the 15th, and lastly, the final on the 16th.

The teams have been divided into four groups: A, B, C, and D. Group A consists of the following countries: the Czech Republic, France, Hungary, and the Netherlands. Group B includes Finland, Italy, Belgium, and Sweden. Similarly to Group C which includes the countries Lithuania, Spain, Bulgaria, and Poland. Lastly, group D has Ireland Portugal, Serbia (and now Latvia)
