Greece vs Spain 2022 International Friendly Games match will be held on August 9. Olivier Nkamhoua, a Helsinki native, spent his Saturday playing international basketball, leading Finland to beat Belgium 80-71. Nkamhoua scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds during the game, with the crowd being treated to what Basket Finland’s Twitter account called an “Olli-Show.” This summer, Nkamhoua has played for Basketball Findland in two friendly games against Estonia In June, with one win and one loss. In the win, Nkamhoua had 12 points and two rebounds in 22 minutes, going 5-for-9 from the field. A day later, he had 11 points and three rebounds in 17 minutes, shooting 4-for-7.
Last summer, Nkamhoua played in three national matches with Basketball Finland. This was his first time competing with them, and it was leading up to the Summer Olympics in Japan. Nkamhoua is a very productive forward. He was averaging 8.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game. He was also starting every game before he got injured 22 games into his junior season. Nkamhoua’s numbers were career highs, almost doubling his previous career stats of 4.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. He attended Bishop Walsh High School in Maryland and was a highly touted three-star prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle. Nkamhoua was ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 167 overall player in his class and No. 29 among power forwards. Despite his promising career, Nkamhoua has had to face several setbacks, the most recent being an ankle injury.
