Albania vs Finland FIBA U-20 European Championship match will be held on July 20. Ugnius Jarusevicius, a recent signee with the California State University, Bakersfield men’s basketball team, is traveling to Podgorica, Montenegro in July for the 2022 FIBA U20 European Championship. The incoming Roadrunner will compete for the Lithuanian National Team in its quest to be crowned Kings of Europe in 2022. The tournament will mark another voyage on his ever-expanding international resume as he was also a member of Lithuania’s team at the European championships in 2021 and 2019.
Last year, Lithuania finished in second place at the U20 European championships despite playing some of the top-ranked basketball teams in the world. The big surprise for this team was Martynas Varnas (6’10 ) who ended up having a great tournament. During his tenure on the team, he averaged 9 points and 6 rebounds per game throughout the championship and contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds during their 16-point victory over Greece. He was one of the top prospects coming into the championship after averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per game during his senior season last year while playing high school basketball in America at St. Matthew Academy in Lincolnton, North Carolina.

Lithuania is set to contend with Ukraine and the Czech Republic during Group C play. After contesting three contests over a three-day span, the team’s performance throughout group play will determine seeding for the Round of 16 elimination games.
