Rahmat Hidayat was born on 17 June 2003. Hidayat is a badminton player from Indonesia, associated with the Djarum badminton club. The Djarum club is based in Kudus, Central Java, and was established in 1969 at the Djarum Factory on Jl. Bitingan Lama No. 35. Budi Hartono, the CEO of Djarum, spurred his workers to play badminton on a court at the workplace. Together with Rayhan Fadillah, Hidayat celebrated their initial junior competition win at the Dutch Junior International Grand Prix in 2020, where they beat Junaidi Arif and Muhammad Haikal.
That same year, they were runners-up at the German Junior International. In 2021, the pair again took second place at the Denmark Junior International Series and, in June, won their first adult title at the Lithuanian International. They reached the quarterfinals at the Indonesia International Challenge but didn’t progress further. When Yeremia Rambitan was hurt, Hidayat joined forces with Pramudya Kusumawardana, an Asian men’s doubles champion, for a short spell in October.
At their first event together, they won against Hiroki Okamura and Masayuki Onodera from Japan at the Malang Indonesia International. The following week, they clinched the Indonesia Masters Super 100 title, defeating the top Chinese pair He Jiting and Zhou Haodong. Hidayat later returned to his usual teammate, Fadillah, and they reached the semifinals of the Bahrain International Series and won the Bahrain International Challenge. They participated in the Indonesia Masters but didn’t make it past the qualifiers.
At the Thailand Masters, they fell to the third-seeded Indonesian team, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and Bagas Maulana, in the quarterfinals. The BWF World Tour, which started on March 19, 2017, and kicked off events in 2018, is a collection of elite badminton tournaments overseen by the Badminton World Federation. This tour includes different levels of events, like the World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, Super 300 (part of the HSBC World Tour), and the BWF Tour Super 100.
